Corey Simon is the Paris Hilton of NFL linemen

Corey Simon moves onThis is an age of getting paid for nothing.

Unless you’re me and you can’t find a real job, you’re probably making money.

And as you know, lots of people do less than you and make even more money.

Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie, Dane Cook, Alberto Gonzales (sorry, unlike some others, we could care less if politics invade the blog).

These people have nothing on Corey Simon.

Simon, the sixth overall pick in the 2000 Draft by the Eagles, has cashed the F out in the NFL lately for doing nothing.

We’ll give Simon his five years with the Eagles, he started to establish himself as a premier pass-rusher. He even had 9.5 sacks his rookie year.

Fast forward to signing with the Colts in ’05. Five years, $30 million is what the Horse paid for a man generously listed at 300 lbs in media guides. In 2005, Indy got 13 games, 35 total tackles and Simon’s first season without a sack.

In 2006, Simon sat out the entire season on the non-football injury list with what the Colts called “polyarthritis.”

So, with no other choice, the team released Simon Aug. 4.

As his Colts career came to an end, Simon wound up getting paid Clemens green. $14 million in salary and bonuses for 13 games. You would think with all his health problems, Simon would retire.

But nope, he signed with the Titans this week.

Watch out Jeff Fisher, if he starts bringing his tiny dog to work in his gym bag, run the other way.

I’ve been watching Paris Hilton’s BFF. Where do they get these people? They’re from another world!
